As I have mentioned I am usually super, super organised and I am holding onto the feeling that at the moment I still feel that I am. I have contacted the hotel where we wish to hold our wedding, contacted the offices of civil ceremonies in Cork to inform them and they have already been to The Commodore and cleared its Health & Safety requirement's in order for us to hold the ceremony there.
There was a slight hiccup when they informed us that they do not 'do' civil ceremonies on a Saturday (CC's are still relatively new in Ireland and the fact that they do them at all has surprised quite a few of the older members in my family, although I have had to explain I am not a lesbian and that My Man is very much... well a man! But if you wish to hold your wedding outside of a church it is called a Civil Ceremony) but having spoken to members of my family and friends everyone seems fine with having it on the Friday and even better is the fact its a bank holiday weekend so no one has to rush straight back.

So until we get to Ireland at the end of February and actually sit down to discuss the wedding in its finer details I am kind of left twiddling my thumbs, which drives me insane.

My best friend and Chief Maid 'M' got married in 2011 and did not enjoy a single second of her wedding planning due to the fact her other half is a police officer in London and a lot of the organising needed to be done over the the unfortunate period when the London riots occurred, so he was unable help at all, as he was called into work day & night.
So I stepped in and helped out with a lot of things that he probably would have been helping with had he been able to. (M does not agree with this statement, she thinks he would have just left her to it anyway. I am trying to remain impartial)

M did an absolutely fabulous job organising her own wedding considering everything seemed to be falling apart at one point with hubby to be work issues, chef issues and a venue organiser that really wasn't interested at all.

She is brilliant when it comes to the little details & has a superb sense of style, her wedding day was absolutely flawless, stylish and beautiful and if I can have mine even half as good as that I will be happy!

M is very excited about my forthcoming nuptials and looking forward to helping me out, especially with the dress shopping.
She suggested that we start white dress shopping in January, I thought this would be an excellent idea too as even though the wedding is 18 months away I have no idea what type of dress I want or what will suit me so starting early seemed like a great plan. M thought so too, very much looking forward to sitting back watching me try on dresses and offering her expert opinion whilst quaffing champagne in sumptuous wedding dress shops... Or so she hoped...
